Aloha Africa

About 10 years ago, I went to Honolulu, Hawaii for six glorious days on business then added a day strictly for pleasure.  I’ve been longing and working towards returning ever since.

Honolulu is a lush, green, tropical environment fragrant from the scent of Plumeria, Birds of Paradise, Hibiscus, and Pikake framing the landscape of every street, road, and highway.  Along with an abundance of pineapples, macadamia nuts and Kona coffee, I saw Kukui Nut Oil everywhere. In every little tourist shop, hotel gift shop, and clothing boutique, kukui nut oil was always present.  I learned it’s how Hawaiians moisturize and condition their skin and care for their beautiful healthy hair.  Ten years ago I was knee-deep in pursuit of a degree in tourism and meeting management with no thoughts of soapmaking.  But kukui nut oil was forever planted in my memory file.

Aloha Africa and Aloha Africa 2 are my signature soaps created with kukui nut oil.  This luxury oil can be mixed into the soap formula with the other oils or added as a superfatting agent just before pouring the soap into a mold.  My favorite soapmaking luxury ingredient, kukui nut oil,  for conditioning, moisturizing, and nurturing your body from hair to your feet.
